Day 5-Sharp

Sharp.

Set myself a bit of a challenge here , wondering if an effort will be made.
'Sharp' has  many associations but does not inspire the inner poet.

The tang of lemon,
the trouser crease,
the sword edge,
acerbic wit,
a mind alert,
unsugared rhubarb,
a bend in the road that needs focused attention,
a retort,
a musical term.
did I once know a Graham Sharpe?
The point of a pencil.

Well, I gave it a go.
It felt more like an old fashioned English lesson, some homework to do..

and here it is.

The sword is sharp, it has to be just so
The pointing out of obstacles that block
The soul's blossoming now, not tomorrow.
Blackbird's song at dawn before the old clock
Strikes like a scimitar to scare the crow
That flees the brambles of mind's cruel mock.
Morn brakes, soul shakes free to shine free to gleam,
Floats on everlasting cerulean stream.

  1. Sorry today's prompt didn't inspire your inner poet, I did enjoy your results though.
