day 3 sparkling

2  pieces of poetry today.

The 1st is my first ever experiment with diamante form.of which I knew nothing until October 2nd 2016

the 2nd is free flowing, stream of consciousness which is how they usually emerge.

The plan is to learn something about the form of poetry this month as well as playing with words flowing..

Here's the theory.

Line 1: Noun or subject
Line 2: Two Adjectives describing the first noun/subject
Line 3: Three -ing words describing the first noun/subject
Line 4: Four words: two about the first noun/subject, two about the antonym/synonym
Line 5: Three -ing words about the antonym/synonym
Line 6: Two adjectives describing the antonym/synonym
Line 7: Antonym/synonym for the subject.

Here's my sparkling diamante.

Fiery,, intense, awake, golden,
Forgiving, emerging,empinkening,
Rosy, glowful

and here is my stream of consciousness.

Light drops delicately on the slow moving stream.
Sparkling, dancing
Sprites alight lightly on the holding meniscus.
Who sees their footprints?
Who hears their laughter?
You think its just sparkling on the water.

  1. Love the first one more Zannie - good try with the form.

  3. Good for you, Zannie! I like both poems. I'm going to be using the diamante form in a workshop I'm conducting for senior adults this month. It's a great form to get people (who think they can't write poetry) into poetry. xoA

  4. Both poems are amazing! :D

  5. I really love both of these, so glad you tried out the diamante form. I'm looking forward to reading your poetry this year for OctPoWriMo.
